Things to know about elm Seed bugs

Elm seed bugs look very similar to their cousin boxelder bugs, but there are a couple of ways one can tell the difference between the two and determine if you need elm seed bug pest control or boxelder pest control servcies. 

Body & Size:

Elm seed bugs are typically smaller than boxelder bugs, measuring just under 1/4 of an inch, boxelder bugs are usually around 1/2 an inch. 

Adult elm seed bugs have wings, that when closed form an x pattern on their back. 

Shape & Color:

Boxelder bugs and Elm seed bugs have similar body shapes, but elm seed bugs are typically browner in appearance with some orange or white pops of color. 

Markings:

Elm seed bugs have a dark upside-down, triangle shape in the upper middle of their back. They also have narrow white markings that go along their abdomens.
